Camps

Check out our 2021 camp in Tsuut'ina Nation!

The vision behind the 2021 Wake Up & Rise Goalie Camp Summer Tour, is to develop Indigenous goalies across Canada both on and off the ice. Waniska Athletics is inviting Indigenous communities and individuals to be a part of this groundbreaking movement.

This new wave of Indigenous athletes will share the collective foundation of character, strong work ethic, and the importance of education. Waniska Athletics camps will be on the forefront of tackling stereotypes and barriers that have been placed upon Indigenous Athletes.

The goalie camp tour will lay down the foundation for Indigenous goalies in western Canada. There are currently no goalie camps that are designed specifically for Indigenous goalies, BY Indigenous goalies. Only Indigenous goalies that have been through these challenges will be able to provide the expertise and insight necessary. Indigenous goalies have to deal with specific barriers and challenges that are uncommon for other goalies. This camp will change the current production and development of Indigenous goalies as we know it.
